Through Thick and Thin

Fragment ourselves as we hit the ground
Embrace the pain as we break the bonds
The nights seem so vague, so eerie and dark
We won’t miss the moon if we look to the stars

Losing ourselves to the animosity inside
Oblivious to all feelings cleverly disguised
We can open our eyes and try to rectify
Isolating truth from between the lies

In ignorance, losing sight of compassion
In rage, overlooking the path to reason
Never forgetting what lies within
We are all we have through thick and thin

Retracing steps and finding lost memories
Pain will decorate our pathway to glory
A moment to toast everything we’ve done
Paving our way for what is yet to come

Whatever may come, let us not hate each other
Whatever may come, let us pull through it together
The memories made, a lifelong treasure
Eight years strong and counting down to forever

Let’s not remember the 22nd of November as a day we almost fell out. Instead let’s remember it as the day we overcame another barrier in our lifelong friendship and strengthened what we have. Because at the end of it all it’s not about what was said and done, it’s not about right and wrong, it’s about looking through our strengths and weaknesses and pulling through the thick and thin. So here’s a toast to us, what we’ve been through and everything yet to come. Cheers.
