A new divide I created within, to make sense of the infinite futility that lies inside…

The Battle

Weakness of the heart
Eclipsed by the strength of the mind
My mind which shuts the door
On all the words
My heart wants to say to you
And as this cacophony of silence
resonates within
I live a lie
As you live blind

My mind won the battle
I lost the war

  2. You touched on a lot of themes I consider important both poetically and philosophically. The title caught my eye almost immediately, and reading through the poem several times, I was struck by how your word choice reflected back on the ideas you were presenting. Quite enjoyable, though I think you could drop the last couplet and maintain the emotional power of the poem.

I am gonna enjoy reading through your archives. Thanks for posting such a great poem.

  3. I think this is pretty strong work. I agree with Caribbean Fool above on the couplet though. ‘Cacophony of silence’ is an evocative phrase.
